Book Review: Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

188 pages
Published December 14th 2012

My Review:

After burying her mom, Blaire packs up her stuff and her old truck and heads to the house of her estranged dad, who she has not spoken to since he walked out in her mother and got remarried.

Looking for much needed help from her father, she had no idea what to expect when she arrived. Upon her arrival at her fathers new place, she is not so pleasantly greeted by her stepbrother Rush. She finds out ther her father and his wife are on vacation, with nowhere else to go, Rush ever so nicely offers her a place to stay for two weeks, a closet under the stairs in their huge mansion home. Nope...not kidding.

Rush Finlay is a sexy playboy with piercings and tattoos. Of course what gook would the book be without  a georgous boy without a secret.

Blaire was instilled with the strength of her mother! She is beautiful, strong and is a hard worker and does not ever pity herself.

As you read this story you will feel the chemistry building between Rush and Blaire. Living in a closet under the stairs and working at an elite country club, Rush is having a hard time staying away. And the secret??? Well it seems everyone knows what it is but Blaire. You will just have to read the book to find out what it is!

Goodreads.com description:

To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

A few of my favorite quotes:

"Blaire, I'm not a romantic guy. I don't kiss and cuddle. You deserve someone who kisses and cuddles. Not me. I just fuck, baby. You aren't meant for someone like me."

”I push people away Blaire. It’s a protective mechanism for me. But I don’t want to push you away.”

”I had fallen too far. I was in love with Rush Finlay.”

I didn’t have a past. I didn’t have a foundation.”

”Everyone always said that love was enough. It wasn’t. Not when your soul was shattered.”

“Keep your distance from me, Blaire. You don’t want to get too close. Last night. Last night is haunting me. Knowing you were watching. It drives me crazy. So, stay away. I’m doing my best to stay away from you.”
