Book Review: Crazy Maybe by A.D. Justice

396 Pages
Published January 8th, 2014

Buckle up because you are in for a thrill ride! This book sucked me in from the turn of the first page and continued to get better as I read. I love books that have alternation POV's, you get a more intimate look into the characters life, feelings and you connect with them on such a deeper level.

Andi works at Tough Enough Gym for the past 7 years. One of the most sought after gyms by up and coming fighters because of Mack Weaver, the owner and famed boxing trainer. She lived in foster care since she was six after the tragic death of her parents. She became emancipated at the age of 16 and Mack took her under his wing.

Luke has a great family but they do not approve of or support his dream. They are ashamed of him because he did not follow their path of white collars. Luke turns to the only man he knows that can help make his dream of becoming a professional boxer a reality, Mack Weaver.

I can say that this is not your typical romance story! Sexy, tattooed bad boy that has been hurt and no longer does relationships. Be prepared for romance, mystery, drama, suspense and make sure you have some tissues handy!!!

My rating: 5 Stars

Andi Stone is a strong, smart and independent woman, thanks to the help of a famous boxing trainer, Mack, and his protege, Shane, who have respectively been like a father and brother to her. But that wasn't always the case. Andi never knew what a “normal” life was like. Having been raised in foster care from the age of six after the death of her parents, Andi became emancipated at 16 after an especially horrible incident forced her into a psychiatric hospital.

Luke Woods, the family black sheep and street-brawler, is determined to be a successful professional boxer despite his family’s protests. He needs Andi’s help to get there. The wedge between him and his family over his past relationship issues and career choices is not easily overcome. Luke must learn to face the past mistakes, fears and demons that constantly plague him.

Fireworks and passions quickly ignite between Andi and Luke in the midst of the chaos that surrounds and threatens them. She never revealed the secrets and lies that have plagued her, but when she publicly inherits her family fortune, the living, breathing past comes back to torment her and threaten all that she holds dear. For the first time in her life, Andi must learn to rely on someone else to love and protect her or risk losing the man she loves.

Sometimes love isn't enough. Sometimes it’s all you need.

He looks at me like I'm a predator that's about to pounce and devour me whole.

Neither of us are moving or even smiling but I fell the electricity arcing between us as he moves closer and closer.

The more I learn about her, the more complex she becomes to me, and the more irreplaceable she becomes, too.

From now until I die, whatever hardships we face, we will face together, side by side. You will never fight alone. There is absolutely nothing I wouldn't do for you. I love you with everything I am, baby.

We've all done things we regret. What matters is how we heal the ones we've hurt. Some say it should come easy if it's real love but that's just not true. Love is never easy - love hurts sometimes. It causes insecurities and jealousies. Relationships take work - love takes work. And happiness requires forgiving others.

Once in a lifetime, you may find someone who can give you everything you've ever wanted. A man who can fulfill every desire, grant every wish, provide everything in the world and make every dream come true. Once in a lifetime, that person comes along and when you find him, you'd better hold onto him as tightly as you can.

For some, normal is over-rated. For others, normal is the greatest unknown.

I am happily married to a wonderful man and we celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary this year.

We have two sons in college and we are so proud of them both!

I work full time as a manager but write as a means to escape into another world. I have loved books for as long as I can remember. That was a trait passed on to me by my Daddy. I remember spending many hours in book stores growing up.

I hope you enjoy the stories and will go on these journeys with me!

Book Review: Saved by Kelly Elliott

Saved by Kelly Elliott

Pages: 503
Published April 4 2013
My Star Rating: 4 Stars

My review:

This is book two in the wanted series. Do not read this book if you did not read Wanted first.

What do you do when the man you have loved for years finally proposes to you? Celebrate? Make wild passionate love to each other? Not in this book. This wild ride of a story starts off where Wanted left off. Jeff and ari finally figured out how to make it work and told each other how much they love one other after years of differences. A one night stand before they even became a couple called Jeff to tell him that she was pregnant. Then the night that he was going to propose, ari's father shows up and ruins the whole thing by telling ari that Jeff got someone else pregnant and he planning on proposing. What do you do when the one woman you despise the most says she is pregnant with the man you loves baby?

Is Rebecca really having Jeff's baby? She is due in 2 months and that's when the truth comes out. Ari and her friends scheme to find the truth. There is now way that she can be due in two months when she looks like she is gonna pop any minute. Nancy drew is on the case.

Josh, is beautiful and sexy, basically sex on a stick! This former man whore falls deeply in love with Heather. Josh will fight his way into her heart and prove to her that his feelings are real. Easier said then done.

Heather lost her parents a year ago, and her heart is beyond fragile. She is just afraid to let someone in, and just when she does, her walls go back up and is just too scared to lose any one else that she loves. How far can heather push josh away before he just gives up?

Ellie and Gunner cut their honeymoon short because his father has a heart attack. Gunner and his father have not seen eye to eye in many years. Will this be the opportunity for them to make amends? Will they ever see eye to eye and have that father son relationship again?

Enjoy the ride while you watch this story unfold! There will be happiness, sadness, and lots of fighting.

Goodreads.com Description:

Arianna and Jefferson’s love is true but will it be enough?

Ari who comes from a loving home with a family who has had more than their share of difficulties, is faced with possibly losing the love of her life. All she dreams of is growing old and having children with Jeff, but a family history and a conniving Rebecca could shatter that dream. Trying to support Jeff and cope with all the truths and possibilities of her own destiny may prove to be more than one person can handle.

Jeff’s dream is to raise horses on his ranch in Mason with the only women who has ever filled his heart and soul. But he’s running the risk of losing her by trying to be the man he knows he should be by taking on his responsibilities. He’s completely bewitched by the passionate and always outspoken Ari, but needs to do right for the child that could possibly be his.

Despite all the odds stacked against them can their relationship be…..SAVED?

My Favorite Quotes:
"To quote the great Katherine Hepburn, " I could  peel you like a pear, and God Himself would see the justice in it." I'll do it young lady, if you keep pushing me!"

"As one goes through life, one learns that if you don't paddle your own canoe, you don't move."

She looked up at me and smiled. "I never want this feeling to end...ever." I smiled back at her, watching as her eyes turned from love to passion within a matter of seconds. "What feeling would that be sweetheart?" "The feeling of being so incredibly in love with you that I can hardly breathe. I'm so happy here, Gunner. I'm so very happy here in our little world." Our little world. I couldn't have said it better even if I tried.

"I don't think you can get to where you're truly meant to go until you travel that one road...the one that's filled with sharp turns, steep hills and nothing but pot-holes that you have to try to get around. After you make it off that road, you find the one that is straight, smooth and filled with nothing but happiness."

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, only with what you are expecting to give which is everything."
