Besides being a book ho I'm also a cover addict! LOL :) The cover is awesome ! Now for the content id cover ♥

Liam ~ I immediately felt a connection to him because of the loss of his mum and the effect it has on him afterwards :( He's rather easy on the eye ... hell who am I kidding ?! He's delicious !!!!!

Jayda~ She has a real ass wipe for a boyfriend! After a rather unpleasant surprise she finds herself left needing and in a rather sad position. Pulling up her big girl panties she heads off for a job interview and this is where it all starts ...

Michael~ A client at Liam's firm and he also has eyes set on the gorgeous Jayda ! Damn this girl is a hot commodity :) Jayda and Liam have become friends sharing almost anything but he's concerned that Michael has a hidden agenda . I smell a love triangle coming !

I like a relationship that starts off as friendship first because there's no pretense , a friend sees you at your best and your worst and you tend to tell a friend more so when and if the friendship develops into more you're already comfortable with one another :)

Ok so I was right about the triangle but its got a twist !

All in all I enjoyed "Healing Wounds" and I'm reminded again about the
importance of family and friends and how more often than not they're our crutch that we lean on for support in times of trauma , drama , heartache etc.

Looking forward to see what happens in "Secrets Kept" I'm curious about Michael and I'd like to know more about him.

★★★★

This is the first installment of "A Scott/Price Family Drama" series; the second and third books, Secrets Kept and All I Ever Wanted is available now!

Liam Scott is a successful, wealthy, and handsome business man. But he still battles with the depression the death of his mother triggered twenty years ago. That and an equally as old secret keeps his feelings for his co-worker and best friend Jayda Price at bay.

Jayda Price is never afraid to work for what she wants. After a family tragedy Jayda has left Baltimore for a life in D.C. Hit by hardships, she finds herself interviewing for Scott & Helm, an event coordinating firm headed by the very handsome Liam Scott. Five years later and Jayda may be ready to pursue her heart's greatest desire.

Neither of them could anticipate the trials life would throw their way. Their only saving grace may be the fact that love does indeed heal all wounds.

Healing Wounds is a family drama with adult themes and some intimate sexual scenes.

Excerpt
“You look nervous,” he says. His hand, still in my hair, turns to my cheek. It’s warm. Smells good. “Come and sit down.”
He takes my hand and leads me to a window seat. A built-in bench, pressed up against a wall of glass. He wraps his hands around my waist and lifts me up. Sits me down up there. My eyes scan the patchy, dirt-strewn yard outside. The way the rain smashes off the ground and into something else. The sky is white. Stark white.
“Just a minute,” he says.
My mind screams as he steps away. He reaches onto some shelves along the wall and grabs an armful of navy blue blankets. Painters’ blankets, I realize as he holds them out for me. He sits them on the bench beside me. Smooths one out. Lifts me up and sits me on it. Then he tucks another one behind me.
“Thank you,” I murmur. Despite the blankets’ tattered appearance, they seem soft enough. There’s no paint on them, and they don’t smell like it. Another one unfolded by his big hands, tucked around me.
“You got wet. Warm up a moment.”
I sit there because my brain is broken and my heart feels puffed up like a balloon.
He climbs up behind me and gently nudges me forward. He leans his torso up against mine, spreads his legs around my butt and thighs. Strong hands begin to knead my shoulders.
“Don’t be nervous here, Angel. I’ll take care of you. Always.”

Book Review: Hard As Mason ( Book 1) by Cindy B. Wells

Hard As Mason

Sultry Tides Series Book 1

By Cindy B. Wells

Reviewed by Sandra Long

5 STARS

Laura Bellamy is a rising star at her San Francisco company. She is smart, beautiful, professional, respected, and driven to succeed. Unfortunately, the greater her success grows, the more her husband’s insecurities are revealed. The couple has been married only three years since busy Laura took a chance on finding love on an internet dating website.

But once the honeymoon ended, the more she tried to make their marriage succeed, the more Greg’s true colors stained their crumbling relationship. He is jealous, paranoid, and cruel. Adding to their pressure-cooker marriage, he focuses his insecurities into pressuring his wife to start a family and give up the career that makes her happy.

Laura has worked with the same company for longer than she’s known her husband. In that time, not only has she loved her career, she’s also enjoyed her friendship with Mason Paladino: a fellow executive who is witty, sophisticated, and a bit of a goofball who sports a gorgeous swimmer’s body. For too long, the friends have suspected they share romantic chemistry, but neither will break their vows. If the right conditions present themselves, will they act on their simmering desires? Would it be wrong to deny their love? Can Laura trust her heart to show her the right path after failing miserably with her husband?

When Greg’s insecurities push him over the edge from cruel to criminal, will Laura stay, or end the toxic relationship? And if he catches her with a new man, how far will his anger drive his actions to tear them apart?

Find out what happens to Laura and Mason in book one of the Sultry Tides series.

WARNING: 18+ Only
Contains explicit language and adult sexual situations which may be considered offensive to some readers.
Laura met and married a guy she met through an on-line dating service. After 3 years of marriage she knew she had made a horrible mistake. Her husband was immature, insecure and a potential psychopath. She is very successful in her career and he is not. He resents that and tries to make her resign and stay home and have babies for him. When she refuses he becomes more and more difficult.

Laura has a co-worker named Mason who has been starting to feel like a real friend. They care for each other but are not romantically involved. At least not until both their lives start unfolding. Mason's wife, a frustrated artist, left him for the big city of New York and a chance to try to become a famous painter. Their marriage had been coming apart for years as she had at least one previous affair but they stayed together until their twin sons left home for college and that was when she moved to New York and a new man. Mason was single and available.

Laura had reached the point where she dreaded going home from work in the evenings because her husband, Gregg, was always yelling at her about quitting her job and having a baby. One night the yelling escalated to turning over the table, dumping food and breaking dishes, grabbing her and threatening her. Just as he was about to hit her with his fist, the police arrived, having been called by a neighbor.  He was forced to leave by the police, Laura called a locksmith and had her locks changed that night and filed for a divorce the next morning.

She was late arriving at work because of the appointment with her attorney to start divorce proceedings. What seemed to start out as a casual conversation between Laura and Mason at the end of the work day, quick turned into the fulfillment of what we learn has been both their fantasies for some time--a passionate encounter on the couch in her office.

They both learn that they have been developing feelings for each other for some time but each held back because they did not know that both marriages were coming apart. Now with their feelings exposed, we read of many romantic and erotic encounters. We also learn that Gregg, who has now gone completely over the edge, is watching them. But they do not  know this until it may be too late to stop him.

Book Review: Siren Song by AC Warneke

Siren Song
AC Warneke
Pages: 288
Published: May 14th, 2012
Review by Heidi

The cover art is rather appealing and each chapter has a 'logo' which is brilliant and captures the essence of "Siren Song"

Duncan reminds me a little of the 'Incredible Hulk'  in the sense that he's learnt to 'control' his inner beast.

As with most things in life everyone has an archillies heel and for Duncan it's the sensual Lexi. Despite his attempts of avoiding her Lexi keeps pursuing him a kind of Samson and Delilah scenario .

The tension between these 2 is intense and there were moments I thought I was going to self combust! Lexi did us gals proud ....you want it you go get it !

A sexy,sultry and howling ★★★★ read
A wolf

For eighteen years Duncan Tremain has been able to control his wolf, only letting the beast out to play when the moon is full. This unyielding discipline has given him the ability to conquer whatever hardship should come his way; until Lexi Darling appears in his life. With her joie de vivre and innate sensuality, he is enchanted from the start but the more time he spends in her company the more he can feel his control slipping and the chains that bind the wolf breaking. Determined to keep her safe, he desperately tries to keep his distance, which is a challenge since he is her new boss and Lexi is persistent.

A Siren

A virgin in a temptress's body, Lexi wants Duncan the first moment she lays eyes on him. Just as Duncan is determined to keep his distance, Lexi is determined to break down his defenses and waltz with him in the moonlight. She pursues him relentlessly, accidentally using her newly discovered Siren gifts to lure him to his downfall.

A love that has other plans

Giving in to temptation has never been so wonderful even as both have their reasons to make sure the relationship doesn't get too deep. But the wolf knows what he wants and he wants the Siren.

Like most writers, I spend most of my time telling myself stories and occasionally writing them down when they get too loud to remain in my head. The characters are also very demanding, wanting to go out into the world to be discovered by millions of adoring readers, though they are most satisfied with having only a few readers that truly love them. From the gargoyles that sit on top of the roofs to the Siren who lures her wolf astray to the Aradians and Apocritae to those who battle evil, the characters are everything.

Instead of going through the traditional gatekeepers of the publishing world I have leapt over the walls with the help of digital catapults (kindle direct, smashwords, and createspace) and messenger e-birds (goodreads, facebook, twitter, RNC, etc), going directly to the public. It has been a year and while my strong hold is small it grows larger every day as I connect with other rebels throughout the lands and the readers who support our work. It is a glorious day to be a writer.

When it comes to the actual writing I have discovered that every single one of my books likes to be created in a different way, which makes establishing an environment that is most conducive to my writing is not likely, though it occasionally involves chocolate covered raisins, music, minesweeper, occasionally Mahjong, lots of solitaire, notebooks and scraps of paper, doodling and day dreaming, and fruity, sugar-free bubble gum, not necessarily in that order and not always at the same time.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the love and support of my very loving and very tolerant family: my husband who encourages me to keep writing even when I act a little insane in regards to the worlds in my head, and my three kids who help out so much when I get lost in those same, darn worlds. They politely listen as I go on and on about my characters' motivations and back stories, their connections within the worlds created and how they fight to gain control of their destinies. But I am a cruel writer and make them earn their happy endings.

Since I am also a Romantic at heart, they are all happy endings.

Book Review: Chase and Seduction by Randi Alexander

Chase and Seduction
Author: Randi Alexander
Pages: 250
Published August 11th, 2013

Reviewer: Sandra Long
Chase is a high school drop out from a backwoods country town who just happens to be extremely talented and handsome.  He makes his mark in the country music world in a big way and has all the money and attention he never had growing up the son of poor parents and an alcoholic father.  He spends his money wisely, investing in a working ranch where he can get away from the limelight and back to his country roots, caring for his horses and spending time outdoors. He seems to have everything a young man could want--fame, fortune, women, almost everything.
The one thing that Chase does not have is education and his last girlfriend was embarrassed by his poor roots and lack of higher education. She was so embarrassed by it that she made of a point of embarrassing him in front of others, leading to their break-up.  Chase's lack of higher education makes him feel inferior to anyone with more education that what he has.  He does not recognize that he has more common sense and more school of hard knocks knowledge than most of the academics he meets in this story.
When he is asked to star in a movie being made based on a book by an educated woman named Reno, there is an instant attraction between Chase, the high school drop out and Reno, the college professor. By the end of the move they both have to acknowledge the attraction and the sparks fly.  The sex is hot and steamy and constant and almost all their time together is spent engaged in sexual activity.
Both of them see potential problems in their relationship because of time and distance.  She lives in South Dakota and he lives in Texas.  In addition to writing books, she is also a teacher and therefore until to go on the road touring with his band like he wants.
Problem two is her previous boyfriend who wanted to control her life and shape her into the academic role model he wanted. When he met a woman who was a better fit, he dumped Reno over night but still wanted to control her.  After seeing her picture in a tabloid with Chase, the ex used his connections to get Reno a position to teach at the Sorbonne in France for 4 months--something he knows has been a long time dream of hers.  But his motive is not to make her happy but to destroy her relationship with Chase, whom he believes is too far beneath her to be worthy of her affections.
After much discussion, Chase and Reno agree that she will take the offer and he accompanies her to Washington D.C. to a black tie affair to honor the recipients of these teaching positions.  Everyone in attendance is highly educated except Chase and he immediately feels very uncomfortable and out of place but feels Reno appears to fit right in. Reno's ex is in attendance and makes a point  of catching Chase alone and telling him how wrong he is for Reno and how a relationship with him will destroy her academic career that she has struggled for so long. He also overhears two other men in a similar conversation and storms out of the building, refusing to even ride in the limo with Reno back to the hotel.  In fact, he never even goes back to the hotel and refuses all her calls, deletes her emails, texts, voice mails, will not open her letters. He eventually does have one of his staff send her a birthday card but does not even sign it.
He has been on a downhill slide ever since their break-up, drinking heavily every night and not being able to compose any new songs. On his birthday he is finishing up his tour when an old friend brings him 2 hookers to his dressing room to try to cheer him up.  Then he gets a call from security that Reno is at the gate and asking for him.  In his still confused mind he thinks the best thing he can do for the woman he loves with all his heart is to turn her against him so she will start a new life without him.  He lets her into the dressing room and tells her this and allows her to see the hookers.  She leaves broken hearted and without telling him that she is pregnant with his child,
This book provides an excellent picture of how messed up we can make our own lives by feelings of insecurity, inferiority and by trying to decide what is best for other people and manipulate their lives by lies and secrets. It is very well written and keeps the reader's interest on every page but the explicit sexual scenes are, at least to me, occurring too often and in too much detail.  Sex is wonderful and erotic love scenes add to the romance story line in any love story but there is a point where enough detail has been given and there is no need to repeat all of it.  I am reminded of the scene in Gone With the Wind when Rhett carries Scarlett to their bed and then in the next scene it is morning and she has a happy smile all over her face--no one has to read a graphic description to know what happened in that bedroom  the previous night.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to mature adults who enjoy reading erotica with an important lesson in life interwoven into the story line.

Country music superstar/actor Chase Tanner has yet to be denied anything–and he’s never wanted anything or anyone more than gorgeous screenplay writer Reno Linden. So when the film they are working on is finally finished, Chase decides to turn up the volume on seducing Reno.

Reno Linden lived a quiet, rural life until she was thrust into the Hollywood scene when her book was adapted to film. Chase Tanner is larger than life, sinfully sexy and hell-bent on getting her into bed. Skittish after a failed wedding engagement, Reno risks the plunge into Chase’s arms, and is surprised that her good girl self can keep up with bad boy Chase.

Though Chase returns to his cowboy roots often, and Reno cherishes the time spent with him on his ranch, the two find their careers pulling them in different directions. Will their attraction survive the glitz and stress of fame?
