My review:

If you have not read the first book in this series then you HAVE to read it before you read this one. This book starts right where Relentless leaves off. Claire becomes conflicted about the adoption and Chris' need to find the baby causes Claire to go to this dark place. She starts to punish herself and doesn't feel like she deserves the love that people are trying to give her. She has many issues that she needs to confront. We also learn more about Chris and the fact that he never moved on from Claire and wants her back. Adam, who loves Claire very much, takes a job for his dad and leaves Claire with Chris. There are so many emotions in this book, plus there is a huge cliffhanger at the end!!!

Goodreads.com description:
"Sometimes letting someone go is the ultimate act of love."

In Relentless, college student Claire Nixon and surfer Adam Parker each had a painful past too heavy to carry alone. Claire tried to push Adam away, but Adam's relentless pursuit of her heart and her secrets made her walls come crumbling down.

But now Claire's attending college a hundred miles away from Adam. With their new relationship already hanging by a thread, Adam is sent to Hawaii on business.

And Claire's first love, rock star Chris Knight, is back in her life.

Chris wants his ex-girlfriend back. Both he and Claire know that only Chris has the power to mend the final missing piece of Claire's shattered heart. But Claire's strength is tested as she is forced to confront the demons she's been running from for more than a year.

Now Claire must choose between a long-distance relationship with Adam and a second chance at true love, family, and home with Chris.

My favorite quotes:

“The quickest path to self-destruction is to push away the people you love.”

“Why? Why do you have to leave?” “Because sometimes you have to suffer without the things you want now so you can have everything you need later.”

“You’re my mess, and that makes you a beautiful mess

“You’re mine, and a piece of you will always belong to me the same way a piece of me will always belong to you.”

Goodreads.com description:

Sometimes letting someone go is the ultimate act of love.

Claire Nixon is a college student with a past full of secrets and heartbreak. She was saved once by her first love, and rock star, Chris Knight. But when she encouraged Chris to leave town to pursue his dreams, both Claire and Chris didn’t realize it would be the biggest mistake of their lives.
After a devastating year apart and thousands of miles of distance between them, Claire met sexy surfer Adam Parker. With his awful jokes and profound patience, he helped Claire pick up the shattered pieces of her broken heart for the second time. But now Chris has returned and he is willing and determined to make Claire’s dreams come true—the same way she did for him when she let him go. With Adam’s former girlfriend in the picture, Claire finds herself torn between the new, passionate love she shares with Adam and the family she shares with Chris.

Book Review: Promises, Promises by Janice Baker

Promises, Promises
by Janice Baker

294 pages
Published May 2nd 2013 by Janice Baker

Available on Amazon.com.

I just finished this great book! Do not judge by the cover! It is definitely not as provocative as the  cover portrays. This story is about a young woman in this story who fell in love with a man who was very sexy yet domineering. He romanced her with fine dining, travel and clothes but the one thing that she craved was love. She came from a very troubled childhood and was hungry to have a connection with someone. After two years of enduring his "Punishments" and "Lessons" she decided that it was time to run! She ran to an old friend from college, found a job, fell in love and most importantly found herself. Trying to overcome her horrible childhood and her controlling ex is not an easy task, but if you have the right people by you side anything is possible.

Goodreads.com Description:

Isabella “Izzy” McKenna just came out of a two year, well, she couldn’t really call it a relationship. It was more like two years of being dominated and controlled by a handsome, domineering and powerful man.

When she finally decides to leave him, after he finally pushes her too far, she revives her friendship with her best friend from college.

Little did Izzy know that rekindling her friendship would also throw her into an amazing loving relationship with a gorgeous fun, but at times jealous, bar owner named Z.

Will Izzy’s horrible childhood and past controlling relationship keep her from finally finding the love that she’s always searched for? Or will he ruin the love that is finally just in her grasp?

My Favorite Quotes:

"Sometimes promises are only as good as the action behind the promise. Other than that, promises are just that – promises, promises."

"But I want to change all that. I want to be there for you, for all that you went through. I want to be with you forever, Izzy. I love you so much. Izzy, I promise.”

"Sometimes life hands you a shit deal, but you’re the only one who can turn it around.”

Take a chance and read this book! It is definitely worth a read!
Let me know when you do!!!!!

Do OC

Many many years ago as a child my family would take me to the shore for vacation. I LOVED it! It was a place for me to run free and relax. I would bounce around from arcade to arcade to mini golf to the beach to the water park and amusement parks and all over again. Ocean City NJ has been voted the Best Family Resort many times, and there is a reason for it. There is just so much to do that you will be busy the whole time you are here. The boardwalk is about 2.5 miles and is filled with shops, food and many attractions.

Not in the mood for shopping? If you just need just sit back and relax then you have miles of beach to sit and take in. The views are breathtaking and the sound of the waves crashing are beyond relaxing.

You also have Main Street shopping just 3 blocks away! There are many quaint shops you can shop at on Asbury Ave.

If you are planning a romantic getaway this is the place to be! You have choice of Bed & Breakfasts, Hotels or renting a house or apartment for your stay.

I do have a place to recommend to you if you do chose to visit:

This beautiful 2 Bedroom 1.5 Bath condo is located in the center of town. Includes off Street parking and outside shower. Walking distance to all the shops, boardwalk and beach! For more information on this great condo click HERE! This rental is available all year long, perfect for holiday weekends and great getaways!

I have been coming to Ocean City since I was a small child. I continued this tradition with my husband. The shore is where we got engaged almost 10 years ago. So many memories here! We decided that this would be a great place to bring our daughter, and we have since she was born. Six years later we decided to up and move here because we loved it here so much. Once you decide to make the trip down here, you will fall in love too!
