Historic Cold Spring Village
Looking for something fun to do with your children this weekend? You have to visit the Historic Cold Spring Village located in Cape May NJ. My daughter went there with her camp this summer and she had such a good time! They have carriage rides, historical sites for tours, demonstrations and more.
Items created by the artisans working at the Village may be purchased in
the Village Country Store. Pottery including bowls, mugs and
containers; brooms such as whisk brooms and witch’s brooms; and ironware
like horseshoes, hooks and broom-holders. Stop by
Country Store for sweets and treats, home-made jams and jellies, wooden
toys and more!
Tour 26 restored historic buildings with historical
guides in period clothing who will show you the trades, crafts and
lifestyles of the the 19th century including black-smithing, woodworking,
basket-weaving and more. Visit the Ice Cream Parlor, Bakery and Old
Grange Restaurant
Every Tuesday and Thursday, visitors can watch as a Civil War era Cape May
County family copes with the realities of divided loyalties. Cape May in Blue and Gray,
a brief one-act play presented in partnership with the Cape Island
Theatre Company, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battle of
Gettysburg and the Emancipation Proclamation and brings awareness to the
impact the Civil War had on Cape May County.
They even have weekday events, themed weekends and special events including free horse rides, wagon rides and hands-on crafts! This place is great entertainment for the whole family!
