Book Review: Royal Savage by Victoria Ashley

My review:
Victoria Ashley as brought her A game with this amazing book. She has nothing back!

The story starts you off almost two years ago with an extremely tragic event and really sets to pace for the entire book. You then fast forward to today and meet Avalon, a beautiful strong woman and Royal a beautiful tattooed sexy tempting and powerful. This story is filled with pain, anguish, sexiness, tattoos, passion and love. Enjoy the ride while you feel for Royal and learn so much about him, yearn for a happy ending and sit on the edge of your seat as you turn the page. Lies, deceit, blood and anger. So many emotions are throughout this amazing story. Royal is guaranteed to have your heart!

"I’m a slave to darkness, Avalon, and all I feel is pain. Nothing more.”

"Life is a bitch . . . and she has me by the fucking throat."

“There’s a darkness inside your eyes that tells me you’re fighting demons, that you’re driven by the pain and not willing to give up until you feel the peace you’re seeking. It’s part of being human. Fighting is the only thing you can do. Pain is part of who we all are.”

"Before Olivia, all the girls ever wanted out of me were a good fuck and someone to rebel against their parents with. It was fun for a while, but always left me empty, until her..."

New Release: Something For The Pain by Victoria Ashley

Description:

Tempting, inked and highly addictive. Alex is all that and more… I’ve made a lot of mistakes – ones I’m not proud of, and definitely ones that have left their marks both mentally and physically. Things got lonely; I got lost in my own fucked up mind and in the end it left me fucked out of my mind and unable to fight – or at least win. That life’s over for me and I’ve moved on. Six months into tattooing at Blue’s and already I’m the most wanted and sought out tattooist. My biggest clientele consists of women. They come into the shop, end up in my bed and we both come out happy. It’s been my release since I’ve stopped fighting. It’s become part of the “new” me. But when Tripp reappears in my life, I can’t deny the fact that I would do anything for that girl. So when she asks me to move in with her and her ‘boyfriend’ – our other childhood friend – I never expected for things to get so fucked up and twisted that I would find myself only more attracted to her by each passing second or wanting to protect her from everything that isn’t me. I have worked so hard over the years to suppress my feelings for her but when I find out that her and Lucas have been having an open relationship, I have the strong urge to rip his heart straight from his chest – to destroy the very thing that keeps him breathing. What I didn’t expect was for Lucas to ask what he did. For him to ask me to do the one thing I have secretly longed for since I was old enough to know what the need was. The second thing I never expected was the look of need that I saw in Tripp’s eyes when he asked. One night of free passion could change our lives forever.  I never said that was a good thing either…

Victoria Ashley has created another sexy, steamy, compelling and emotional story.  This is a story about Alex Carter and Trip Daniels and their undying friendship. They will drop anything at the drop of a hat for each and now that friendship line becomes blurred.

"I hear the door close before I feel his body pressed against mine. He's so close, yet not close enough. I Want him to touch me. I crave it. Just once."

Something For The Pain is book 2 in the Pain series and holy hell this book does not disappoint. If you love Memphis' story then hold on to your shirts because Alex's' story will blow you away. Alex and Tripp have been friends since they were 8, her was her first kiss. So cute right? Well that was the moment where things started to get fuzzy. She has always been in love with Alex but since their friendship meant so much to her she never acted on it. Instead she became the one that he confided in. For two people who are just friends, you can tell there is a TON of sexual tension, flirting galore and sexy dirty talk. When an opportunity is brought to light and tests their true feelings everything is put on the line, their friendship and their heart.  I LOVE IT!

"I cover my mouth as a loud gasp escapes, sucking the air straight out of my lungs. I try to turn away so I can leave, but my body seems to be frozen in place as Alex stalks toward me with pure fire in his gray eyes. Stopping in front of me, he grips the back of my head and before I can even register what is happening, he crushes his lips to mine, causing me to almost fall over."

Missing Memphis and Lyric? Don't worry, their in the mix too.

This is a must read for all those that love a sexy story. Go on....one click it now!!

Excerpt:

I’m in my room getting ready when I hear the shower turn on. The party starts in about fifteen minutes so Alex must be getting ready too. Just out of curiosity, I walk over to the bathroom door and turn the handle. It moves, but I don’t push it open. It’s unlocked. That thought excites me, making me realize that he didn’t care enough to lock it, and knowing that I could walk in at any time and see him naked elevates my core temp a little. I just find that to be so damn hot. That’s an open invitation… right? I release the handle and suck in a small breath when I hear him moan out, followed by what sounds like his hand slapping against the shower wall. Oh. My. God. That is the sexiest sound I have ever heard. That low, deep growl is all it takes to get me wet. Collecting myself, I back away from the door and take a deep breath. My legs feel shaky. “Don’t do this right now, Tripp. Dammit, don’t do this.” Shaking it off, I go back to stand in front of the mirror one last time, questioning the way I look in my newest little dress. Dresses are my thing. It doesn’t matter how many I own, I can never have enough. Plus, I love the way Alex looks at me every time he sees me in a new dress. His wandering eyes always cause my heart to flutter out of my chest. I just hope this little red dress is enough to get his attention. I’m in the middle of turning around to check out my ass, when I hear the bathroom door open, followed by a whistle. Please be naked…. What am I saying? Don’t be naked. Cautiously, I turn my head toward the bathroom door, with my eyes squinted, to see Alex standing there in a towel. He looks so damn sexy that I feel as if all the air has been sucked from my lungs. My chest aches as I stare him up and down, watching as the water drips from his beautiful, tattooed body. He checks me out with a smirk before whistling again. “Damn, Firecracker. That dress was made just for you.” He places his hand over the bulge in his towel and bites his bottom lip. “You look beautiful. Stop second-guessing yourself. I’ll see you downstairs in five.” He turns around, pulling the towel away right before he closes the door behind him. My mouth drops open from the glimpse of his ass that I am left with. It’s so firm and perfect that all I can think about is biting it… and the way it flexed when he walked. Is it normal for an ass to look that good? “I hate you sometimes,” I whisper. “Who do you hate sometimes?” I shake my head and look at my doorway to see Lucas standing there, dressed in a black shirt and a pair of gray shorts. He raises his eyebrows, waiting for my response. “No one.” I walk over to him and plaster on my best smile, trying to pretend that I’m not still thinking about those sounds I heard coming from the shower. “I was talking to myself. Just second-guessing my outfit, I guess.” Wrapping his arms around me, he kisses my shoulder and brushes my hair behind my ear. “Well, I would have loved to see you in a pair of short shorts and a tank top tonight, but this dress works too.” I roll my eyes before pulling away from him and bumping him out of the way with my hip. “I didn’t feel like wearing shorts, Lucas. This dress makes me feel good. If I feel good, then I have a good time and enjoy myself. That’s all I want tonight.” “Me too, baby,” he responds. “We’re going to have a lot of fun. Trust me.”

Book Review: House of Stone (Bishop Street book 2) by Rene Schultz

House of Stone

Bishop Street book 2

5 Stars

I received House of Stone for review by the author Rene D Schultz.
After reading Bishop Street, which was by far one of the best books I have ever read. I could not wait to climb into House of Stone.

Meeting the characters from BS again was a welcoming experience. I felt like I had never left them. They became a part of my "family". Following each of their stories from despair to happiness entices you to carry on reading. Rene takes real life situations that these orphaned children had to endure, how they have conquered their fears and weaves them into a beautiful tapestry of love, dedication and family.

In House of Stone, the fear of loosing someone again, becomes a reality as Maggie disappears after a horrific earthquake. Once again this family of unwanted children comes together to fight fate, and once and for all prove that no matter what life decides to throw at them, they will come out undefeated.

When Rene writes you can be sure that the words, like honey, will drip from the pages, and you keep finding yourself wanting more.

“The test of life is not meant to break you, but to make you stronger...”

Four powerful childhood friendships become twisted with lies and deceit after they leave Bishop Street Orphanage. Twenty years later, the four orphans are back together--once again. Maggie is a best-selling author that lives in Los Angeles. Elizabeth, is a farmer’s wife with five children in North Bend, North Dakota. Randolph the billionaire, is a wandering nomad who has never put down roots. Lucy is finally clean and sober, and raising her daughter, after twenty years of living on the streets.

Challenging themselves to let go of the past, and still fused together by the immeasurable power of friendship, they will never let anything get in their way again. Not the tests of courage or willingness to change, not the devastating flood that hits North Bend, and not the love and happiness they find, unexpectedly. Suddenly, their lives will all change forever when Maggie is visiting an orphanage in Honduras. The big earthquake hits and the towns are reduced to rubble, thousands of lives are lost, and Maggie is missing. Will their worst fears test their strength of survival once again!

I’m divorced and I live in a small community just north of Los Angeles where I raised my two sons. I love to garden, try new recipes, take lots of pictures, and occasionally I enjoy a glass of wine with dear friends. I’ve never jumped out of a plane, climbed Mt. Everest, or seen the Northern Lights of Alaska. But, I have danced in the rain, sent a message in a bottle, and I’ve rode my motorcycle down The Pacific Coast Highway on sunny California days!

My first fiction novel “Bishop Street” is coming out July 2013. This story is about four powerful friendships that begin at Bishop Street Orphanage. It continues with lies and deceit after they leave at eighteen. Then, twenty years later, redemption plays out and ultimately the strength that got them through their childhood becomes the catalyst that binds them back together.
My passion of writing has lead me on the most amazing journey. Now, my focus is on fiction. I thrive on developing strong storylines that showcase today’s contemporary lifestyles. Rags to riches, Robinhood, and surviving the odds, seems to be my one common denominator that showcases my fascinating and diverse characters.

After my divorce, I waltzed into the world of online dating. I didn’t find my knight-in-shining armor, but instead in 2008, I wrote a very successful book on my entertaining experiences. My first book “Searching4MrRight.com” was published by a small press and you can find it on Amazon.
